Vredendal is approximately 300 km from Cape Town and provides a central point from which areas such as Namaqualand, Sand Field and Knersvlakte can be explored.
The small West Coast towns Strandfontein and Lamberts Bay is a half hour drive from Vredendal. Furthermore boasts Vredendal with the largest winery in the Southern Hemisphere, Namaqua Wines. Tronox (Namaqua Sands) and Cape Lime is the two mines minister by the Vredendal area.
A further economic growth will bring the development of a gas project in the area and a windmill station erected outside Koekenaap, “Sere Wind Farm”.
